Emergency Communications

LHARC supports Williamson County emergency management through trained volunteer communicators.

📡

ARES / RACES

LHARC members participate in ARES (Amateur Radio Emergency Service) and RACES (Radio Amateur Civil Emergency Service) for Williamson County. Contact us to learn how to get involved.

⛈️

SKYWARN

Many of our members are NWS SKYWARN trained spotters. Severe weather reporting is one of the most impactful things a licensed amateur can do for their community.

🔋

Go Kits

We recommend all members maintain a basic emergency "go kit" with a portable radio, power source, and essential supplies. Ask at a meeting for recommendations.

ICS Training

FEMA ICS-100, ICS-200, and IS-700 training is recommended for all operators interested in EmComm deployment. Free courses available at training.fema.gov.
