Our story, our mission, and the people who make the Liberty Hill Amateur Radio Club what it is.
The Liberty Hill Amateur Radio Club exists to promote and advance the hobby of amateur radio, to foster a spirit of friendship among radio amateurs, to advance the public welfare through emergency communications, and to encourage experimentation and technical excellence.
We are an ARRL-affiliated club and operate in the spirit of the ARRL mission to advance amateur radio. While we are based in Liberty Hill, Texas, we welcome participants from anywhere, especially through our Discord community.
LHARC actively participates in public service events, emergency communications exercises, contesting, and community outreach — all in the spirit of the amateur radio service.
Amateur radio is more than a hobby — it's a responsibility. We serve our neighbors through emergency communications and public service events whenever called upon.
Every experienced ham was once a beginner. We actively support new licensees and offer licensing exam preparation so more people can discover the joy of ham radio.
The Part 97 basis of our service includes advancing the radio art. We encourage experimentation, building, and pushing the limits of what's possible on the air.
From HF DX to satellite operations, ham radio connects Liberty Hill to the world. We celebrate that unique privilege and encourage members to explore every band and mode.
LHARC was founded by young adults who want to bring back the popularity of ham radio among youth through modern community building and mentorship.
We enjoy the technical side of radio: networking, digital modes, infrastructure, and experimentation that blends RF with modern technology.
Membership is open to all licensed amateur radio operators and interested individuals. Reach out and we'll get you connected.
